Eating-<span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px;"> William is our predictable child. Pretty much everything he liked and disliked to eat at age 4 is the same now. We still give him whole milk since he's so skinny. He only drinks about 8 ounce of milk a day, so I figure it's not hurting anything (and I like the whole milk for my coffee. HAHA). Chick Fil A is still a favorite if we are doing fast food, but for a hamburger he loves McDonald's or Sonic. He'd rather not eat steak but loves chicken, pork, and salmon (in that order). Taco (and nacho) night is his favorite. He'd rather eat at home than go to a restaurant. Give him a sandwich on Hawaiian bread, cherry tomatoes, mac 'n cheese and some blueberries and he's a happy camper. He will eat peanut butter but he doesn't love it like I do. He still loves dark chocolate brownies, a coconut sno-cone and pumpkin pie year round. Luckily, he still loves most fruit and all vegetables. Green beans are his favorite and apples his least favorite. He still hates fruit snacks, skittles, suckers and really any other candy (unless it's chocolate he wants nothing to do with it). During the week breakfast is usually oatmeal or a waffle (also wants nothing to do with a bowl of cereal). He loves making homemade banana pancakes on the weekend. It's kinda become a family affair. :) He goes back and forth with yogurt and isn't crazy about string cheese. Overall, he's pretty easy going and a healthy eater.

Sleeping-<span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;"> This is one area that has improved! Around the time William turned 6 he stopped waking up in the middle of the night. He used to sneak into our room every night at 2 am. One day it just stopped! We try to go upstairs to start the bedtime routine at 8. Honestly, most night he's not asleep until 8:30 or 9. 90% of the time he's awake at 6am. He has a clock in his room and knows to not come down stairs until it's 6. Every once in a while he'll sleep until 7. Naps are a thing of the past (insert sad face). If I know we are going to be up late on a Saturday night I'll have him take a nap. He is never happy about it, but it helps him so much.
Personality<span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;">- William has continued to be a kind, gentle little soul that loves his family and hates to disappoint. He is rule follower but has started to come out of his shell and become more talkative. His Kinder teacher called him "a little turkey" a few times. ;)
<span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;">After School Activites- We let William pick what sport he wants to play every season. In the Fall 2018 he played soccer and then Spring 2019 he played in a low key baseball league. William did a 6 week basketball clinic in January/February. So far he's liked them all but seems to favor soccer. He started Jiu Jitsu this past March. Jiu Jitsu is 2-3 days a week and is not only great exercise but he's learning so many good lessons!
Clothing size<span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;">- Shoes size 13 and size 6/small clothes. He has a few things that are size 7, but I have to be careful because he hates when things are really long or baggy. Getting him to wear dress clothes and/or jeans is a huge battle. I think he got so used to wearing comfy stuff to school that putting him in jeans drives him crazy.
Things mommy loves-<span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;"> I love his love for Anna Grace. Some days they drive each other crazy, but no matter what he is so protective of her. I'm so proud of how well he did in Kindergarten. He is a great friend and a good student. I've never been more proud than when he got the Compassion award this past December. Mrs. S wrote on his award "William shows compassion to his classmates regularly. He is always checking on a friend who is sad and will always ask them to play." He may be an emotional little guy but he has the sweetest heart. <span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px;">
Mommy stuff-<span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;"> Life is always busy but it has definitely changed over the years. Less bottles and breastfeeding and more volunteering now. I was William's room mom this year! When they told me I'd been selected I freaked out a little. Luckily, it turned out great! I'm so glad I was able to get to know all the kids in his class better and loved that I was a friendly, familiar face when I was there on Thursday mornings to help with his class. Getting to help his teacher meant a lot to me as well.
<span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;">Over the past year and a half I've made it more of a priority to exercise at least 3-4 times a week. The kids really love going to the YMCA, so that is a blessing.
Things WJG loves<span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;">- Since the last time I did a real post we got Netflix! William is in love! He always has some show he's into. It ranges from Garfield to Discovery shows about animals. The latest Superman movie is also a favorite. Cutest thing.....he loves Christmas movies (especially The Grinch). He <span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px;">still loves his popcorn and a "movie".
These guys loving playing together! They play basketball in the front, play with remote control cars and usually find a way to make a big mess. :)<span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px;">
Spicy stuff is still a no go.
<span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;">School Stuff- William is taking after the Hattenbach side of the family and loves math. It comes easy to him and he's much more interested in working with numbers than letters. He had great report cards all year long! As of now, reading is not his favorite. I just don't think it comes as naturally to him so he's a bit fearful. I keep telling him I love reading. He's not sold yet. :) PE and Art were his favorite "specials" at school. He has continued to show that he hates to disappoint anyone. The one time he got in trouble at school for talking he was heart broken. And last but not least, he is girl crazy! We were always hearing about his girlfriend. He started the year off liking Alison, then Avery and then back to Alison. We are in trouble. :)
William said, "Mama, do you think she wants her DCE?" I was obviously confused and asked him what that meant. He shouted out a few more random letters. Finally he said, "Do you think Anna Grace wants her PACI?" He knew that once she heart the word "paci" she'd freak out so he was trying to spell it out for me. :)
<span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px;">William came home with a note with a heart on it at the end of pre-K. Right before William's six birthday we went to Disneyland in California! This was our first time to Disney and we had THE BEST TIME! He loved all the characters and even did some big boy rides. At this time, William was still at the same "school" (where he'd been since he was 18 months old!). We decided to do a bridge program instead of starting Kindergarten (looking back now I know this was the best decision for him). He loved Ms. Kim and I loved having a little extra time with him before big boy school started.

Our little guy picked playing soccer for Spring 2018. This seems to be the sport he gravitates to. Hunting and fishing are also something he has started to really enjoy. He even went deep sea fishing during our Rosemary Beach 2018 trip. Looks like he's going to take after his uncles!

With every passing day I get a little farther behind. That's why this post is 4 months late. LOL. I may be behind in some areas of life, but I'm happy to say I've found a new rhythm with the kiddos. We go to the YMCA together 3-4 days a week, mommy and daddy watch Netflix together and we do lots of traveling to see our family (which includes swimming, fishing, and lots of playing). Sweet Anna Grace has continued to fill our life with so much laughter and happiness. She is a spunky ball of fire that keeps us on our toes!

Anna Grace loves to eat! Veggies are probably her favorite. I joke that she's becoming vegetarian because lately meat isn't her first pick. With that being said, she does like to eat chicken nuggets from Chick Fil A, but passes on their fries. She stopped eating mushrooms but now loves cherry tomatoes. Her favorite vegetable is probably squash (closely followed by broccoli and carrots). For breakfast she loves vanilla greek yogurt, special K cereal or a plain waffle with no syrup. She also loves pretzels....which her brother doesn't like at all. She doesn't love grapes or banana, but will gobble up watermelon, apples and strawberries. <span style="font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;"> <span style="font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;"> <span style="font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;"> <span style="font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;">

Development: Anna Grace is still doing speech therapy. We are finally seeing her learn/say new things on a daily basis! She still tends to be a few months behind her peers, but she's doing great!

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif;">Clothes: Size 6 diaper and 3T clothes. She wears some 4T as well (especially PJs). Her feet have continue to grow so fast. She wears a 7.5-9.

Around 7:15 we go upstairs, brush her teeth, read a book and I rock her until she starts pointing at her crib. This means she's ready for me to lay her down. She rarely wakes up during the night, and is up for the day around 7:00. She still naps for 2 hours (usually 12:30-2:30). Unfortunately, she doesn't nap as well at school as she does at home. <span style="font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px;">

Things She Loves: The things she loves is pretty much the same. She adores her big brother and stays interested in whatever he is doing. Baby dolls are still THE #1 FAV! She is such a good mom to her babies. She changes their diapers, gives them bottles, rocks them, pats them and tells them, "Don't cry baby, mama here." Anna Grace started going to Little Gym in May, and she is loving every minute. Front rolls, animals, babies and running make her happy (I swear the girl doesn't know how to walk).

Things She Hates: Nap time at school. Anything that's not her idea. We hear her say, "I said, NO!" too often. She is hard headed, but she has a personality that will get her far in life!

Health: Overall, Anna Grace has been healthy. She had a couple of ear infections from September 2017-March 2018 and an upper respiratory infection around Christmas time. Can't complain! She had a few appointments with audiology to make sure there was nothing causing her speech delay. She didn't do well on her first round of tests (because she had an ear infection brewing), but her 2nd test was better and the audiologist we saw had no worries. In April she started seeing a new Neuro-Ophthalmology. Long story short, her nystagmus is here to stay. She's a tough girl, and I know in my heart she will do big things....no matter what! In March she had allergy testing done. We confirmed that she is allergic to eggs and peanuts. She is also allergic to tree nuts. Having her get poked so many times was sad, but I'm so happy to have an "action plan" from the doctor to give to her caregivers AND an epi pen!

Other: AG has 20 teeth (4 more new teeth since her 2nd birthday). She still loves her daddy but wants her mama when she's tired. When Gordon gets home she yells, "My daddy's home!" Anna Grace fell in love with Mickey Mouse around the time we went to Disneyland. Before that it was a tie between Mickey and Elmo. When she met Mickey she yelled, "I love you, Mickey!!!" about a thousand times. Her "I love you" sounds more like "I uv chew". She loves to slide and jump. Santa and the Easter Bunny scare her to death! The beach makes her nervous at first, but after a day or so she is obsessed. William and Anna Grace would play in the sand and ocean ALL day long if you'd let them.

I always knew our kids would be different.....AND BOY ARE THEY OPPOSITE. I couldn't have asked for a better combination. Anna Grace makes every day better and brighter. We love watching her grow, learn and change with every passing day. There is nothing better than being a mama to William and Anna Grace. Watching a brother and sister grow together and love each other is the best!
I finally broke down a month or two before her birthday and stopped giving her a bottle at night (insert crying emoji). She didn't mind one bit....it was just hard for mama. She drinks about 18 ounces of milk a day and will never turn down food. She wants zero help with eating. Therefore, she comes home from school with new clothes on nearly everyday (messy, messy). She's finally started to like bananas (this actually started after her 2nd bday). Strawberries, blueberries and watermelon are still favorites. Neither she or William care for pineapple. She's not really into sweet potatoes any more but loves sauteed mushrooms and carrots. Vegetables are usually the first thing she eats on her plate. She's even started to like cherry tomatoes like her big brother. Pancakes have changed from a no to a yes! I'm sad to say she's discovered ranch and ketchup. She literally would eat them both with a spoon. <span style="font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;"> <span style="font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;"> <span style="font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;">

Development: Every day Anna Grace learns something new! She has really come a long way recently. Since her second birthday she has started talking a lot more. She started speech therapy at the end of November and has shown a lot of progress. Baby girl does get really frustrated when trying to communicate with us. She knows so much but just can't get the words out. But, like I said, everyday is better and better.

She wears a size 6 or 7 in shoes. I'm still shocked at how fast her feet have grow.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px;">Sleeping: This area hasn't changed much. She is still a really good sleeper. She no longer drinks milk before bed. We just go upstairs, brush her teeth, read a book while rocking and then put her to bed wide awake. Sometimes I rock her until she falls asleep because I know she won't let me do this for much longer. She usually goes to bed around 7:30pm and wakes up between 6am-7am. We of course still have rough nights. She still naps for 2 hours (usually 12:30-2:30) <span style="font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px;">

Things She Loves: The things she loves hasn't changed too much. She still loves her babydolls, anything William is playing with, and BOOKS! Anna Grace still loves giving hugs and kisses and is always getting us to do group hugs. Her shoe obsession has continued. She has mastered putting her shoes on by herself. If you can't find her she's probably in the laundry room taking off and putting on new shoes. She loves dancing, purple is her favorite color, and she loves playing hide 'n seek with her brother. I think her favorite part is yelling "BOO!". Her favorite song to sing to is The Wheels On The Bus. She has a new obsession with flash cards. She loves lining them up, stacking them, and going through them one at a time and showing them to you. Honestly, we never see her without a flashcard in her hand.

Things She Hates: The independent, hard headed attitude has continued. She is one super independent girl! The biting is getting a little bit better (but not much). Luckily, she hasn't bit any friends at school and she's only left a mark on William once. The word "gentle" is still used 100 times a day in our house. I'm pretty sure this little girl of ours could be a UFC fighter one day. She is a tough little thing. There really isn't much AG doesn't like. She's pretty easy going and happy to be with her people.

Health: Poor baby girl had fever the morning of her 2nd birthday (while we were at the beach). We took her to an urgent care and found that she had pneumonia. She handled it like a champ, and still had a fun day on the beach.

Anna Grace finished Physical Therapy on June 28th after 15 months of treatment. We were sad to say goodbye to Ms. Laura but happy to have our Wednesday mornings back. She is still doing great with her glasses (besides taking them off in the car and popping the lenses out!). She got a new prescription in September and new frames. We were released from Neurology and still see Neuro-Ophthalmology every 6 months.

Other: AG has 16 teeth (as I type this she is 27 months and has even more!). She still loves her daddy but wants her mama when she's tired. She still thinks William is the coolest person around. Anna Grace loved cheering on her brother at his t-ball games. She'd yell, "Yeah Bubba!" You could find her at every t-ball game with a giant pickle in one hand and flash cards in the other. Her love for dogs and now cats is super cute. She loves Mimi's cat, Smokey Joe. She yells, "JOE!!!" the entire time we are in Texarkana. She wants to pet every dog we see at t-ball games and follows my parents dogs around everywhere. It's just a matter of time before we have to get our own dog. She still isn't too into TV. This little lady doesn't ever sit still!! She also LOVES babies. She is surprisingly gentle with her baby cousin, Mary Catherine. As soon as she sees a baby she starts blowing them kisses and saying SHHHHHHH. She loves telling people, "I'm 2!" Every big truck on the highway is a "choochoo". When she walks into daycare sometimes she says, "I'm back!" LOL. When her food is hot instead of blowing on it she does it her own way and basically spits all over everything. :)

Eating-<span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px;"> I just read back at what William liked at age 4 and it's all exactly the same! Since he's only in the 9% for weight we give him whole milk and things with "good fat" (avacado, peanut butter). Going to Chick Fil A is still a special treat for him and getting chips and cheese at a Mexican restaurant. He also loves restaurants like Shoguns where they cook in front of you. He'd rather eat chicken than steak, and is still a fan of sandwiches, cherry tomatoes, and watermelon. He loves to share a coconut sno-cone with me on a hot summer day! Luckily, he still loves most fruit and all vegetables. He doesn't like fruit snacks and refuses to try a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. If William had it his way he'd eat pumpkin pie for dessert every night (dark chocolate brownies are a close second)!

Sleeping-<span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;"> Again, nothing has really changed in this department. We usually get William to sleep between 8:30-9 and he's up around 6:30. As he's gotten older the chances of getting him to lay down longer with you have decreased significantly. He still randomly wakes up in the middle of the night and sneaks down to our room. We got a clock for his room to help him know when it's time to come down stairs. It's helped a little bit. Nap time is still 12-2. If he doesn't take a nap he is grumpy and cries about everything (and he still stays up until 8:30). So happy we got 2 good nappers!
Development-<span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;"> William has become so independent over the last year! He is the most helpful little boy. He puts his dirty clothes in the hamper in the morning and can get himself dressed with little assistance. The "WHY" stage is in overdrive! He is so, so curious about everything. Back in January he started speech class once a week. I think it's not only helping his speech issues but boosting his confidence. He played soccer in the fall and tried out t-ball this spring (which he ended up really liking!). We are thinking about giving Karate a try soon.
Personality<span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;">- William has continued to be a kind, gentle little soul that loves his family. The love he has for his baby sister is immeasurable! He kisses and hugs on her all day (and loves to make her laugh during our time in the car). William still loves going to school but he also really enjoys his time at home with just mama and baby. He loves telling you stories....that tend to go on and on. :) His imagination and creativity still have me in awe (taking after his daddy). He still really hates when he gets in trouble. He has very sensitive feelings like his mama. This was our #1 reason for holding William back from Kindergarten. Our pediatrician agreed with this plan and said that an extra year of emotional growth is never a bad thing. You truly can't stay upset with this little boy for long. His facial expressions and stories will keep you laughing all day long. I love that he likes to know what we have planned for the week (just like me). His memory is crazy good too! I love his sweet snuggles on the couch and that he still thinks mama is always right. :) The other day he looked over at me, out of no where, and said, "Mama, I love you so much." Those are the moments I'll miss when he's a teenager.
Mommy stuff-<span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;"> William's life got a little crazy around his 4th birthday due to sister's health issues and our work schedules. Thanks to the Man upstairs, things have settled down. I'm working less now and the doctors appointments have decreased significantly. Everyone's stress level has decreased too! We are so blessed to have supportive families. I'm happy to say there are many days that we stay in our pajamas until 10:00 and we've even made friends with the staff at the YMCA (the kids LOVE going to play and I get to exercise again!).
Once you get him in the bed, laying down, reading a book things get easier. It's just getting him into the bed! This kid is a procrastinator. Anna Grace goes to bed around 7:15, so after this it's just him...which I'm sure he kinda likes! He still doesn't like anything spicy to eat and he isn't a fan of things being super noisy (he'll tell you it's hurting his ears).
She drinks about 24 ounces of milk a day and will never turn down food. She doesn't like when you try and feed her with a spoon....she's too independent for that and is trying really hard to master using the spoon on her own. A month or so ago she started to eat more fruit. Although she still doesn't love bananas she will now eat strawberries and blueberries! Watermelon is her #1 favorite. Every Sunday Gordon makes steaks. This is her absolute favorite! Steak, sweat potatoes and asparagus = happy Anna Grace. Her favorite vegetables are green beans, broccoli, carrots, lima beans and asparagus. She doesn't like pancakes but of course will always say yes to a donut on special occasions.<span style="font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;"> <span style="font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;"> <span style="font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;">

She rarely walks because she is always running! Over the last few weeks she has started being more vocal. Still not a whole lot of words but at least more sounds. She makes a noise for a dog that sounds more like a howl and then makes a funny quacking sound for a duck. I swear she's been saying her name the last few days. She can scribble with a crayon and has mastered the stairs (we are still working on getting down them safely).

She wears a size 4 or 5 in shoes (depending on the shoe).

Her bedtime routine is drinking her milk, brushing her teeth, reading a book while we rock her and then putting her to bed wide awake. 95% of the time she falls right asleep without a peep. She usually goes to bed around 7:30pm (depending on baseball games and my work schedule) and wakes up between 6am-7am. We of course still have rough nights. She was awake from 1-4 am the other night. Luckily, those are few and far between. <span style="font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px;">

Things She Loves: The things she loves hasn't changed much. Babydolls, her purse, anything William is playing with, the remote control and books are her favorites. Her obsession with the stairs has luckily decreased. This child LOVES reading. While I do dishes she will sit in her chair holding her baby while she reads a book. She is constantly coming to us holding a book that she wants you to read to her. This sure makes my heart happy!!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to read and can't wait to share this with her as she gets older. She is always waving hi and loves to give kisses and hugs. She loves all of her shoes and is trying so hard to put them on by herself. When she isn't wearing her glasses she loves playing with her pretty long eyelashes. She loves to be tickled and to spin in circles.

Things She Hates: This girl knows what she wants and is very independent. When she doesn't get her way she gets MAD! I've never seen such a little thing throw such a fit. She's hot or cold. One minute she can be so mad at you, fist balled up hitting everything in her path, and the next she's being a sweet little cuddle bug. She still tries to bite you if she is mad but she doesn't do it to cause pain (she never leave a mark)....I think she does it to get your attention. Not being able to verbalize things has been frustrating for her. "Gentle baby" is still used frequently in our home. William is so patient and good with her. Today he told her, "Crying is what babies do. It's okay Anna Grace."

Health: Things are going really well in this department. Sweet thing has been doing great!! She did have a random fever one morning but it never turned into anything. Besides teething we have no complaints from her. :)

Anna Grace is still doing Physical Therapy once a week and loving Ms. Laura. I'm proud to say she is doing great wearing her glasses. She only time she takes them off is in the car! We go back to Neuro-Ophthalmology in a few weeks to see how they've helped.

Other: Our little lady is getting more and more hair, but still not enough for a bow. She has 12 teeth and I think 2 of her bottom teeth are about to make an appearance. She still has a special place in her heart for her daddy and everything William does is funny to her. She loves going to William's baseball games! She spends half the time waving at everyone from her stroller and the other half runny around laughing because we are chasing after her. She has recently fallen in love with dogs. If a dog comes on TV she gets super excited and starts laughing/screaming and saying "owwww" (her barking noise). I can't wait to see how she does with my parents dogs the next time we are in Midland. We are finally able to get her to sit "still" on the couch for a few minutes at a time. :)

This little cutie pie keeps us on our toes, but she sure does make us happy. She is a high energy child that I wouldn't trade for anything! It's pretty awesome to watch her and her older brother, and their OH SO DIFFERENT personalities, grow and change together.
Anna Grace is still going to Physical Therapy once a week. We saw her neuro-ophthalmologist in January and decided to try glasses for a couple of reasons, to straighten her eyes and to help with vision. She has done great! The only time she takes them off is when we are in the car. If they come off she will try and put them back on herself. :) I have never been so impressed!!! She is such an easy going little lovie!

Other: In the 2 months since my last update AG got 3 new teeth (one of which she chipped at school....which earned us 2 trips to the dentist). She has continued to do great in her new room at school. She comes running to us when we pick her up but she's always super excited when we get there in the morning. She's started giving us the kisses too....with a big open mouth! There is truly nothing better. :)

William has gone to the rodeo with us every year since he was born!! And like everything else, every year gets a little more fun. Last year we spent two different days at the rodeo. One Saturday morning we made our way into town for the carnival. We got there right around the time they opened so we didn't have to deal with too many lines. William really got into the rides this year! I've never heard him squeal so loud as I did during the "fast rides". It was super sunny out, so since we had Anna Grace we tried to make it a fast trip. Not to worry, we fit in a pony ride, the petting zoo, and of course lots of popcorn.

This mama went to the rodeo twice last year. Once for a girls night and the next with my people (plus sweet Hunter). William loved seeing all the animals this year. He's actually starting to understand what is going on! He obviously cares the most about the popcorn and ice cream. The night we took the kids we left before the concert started, but made memories that I'll cherish forever. This was the day our pediatrician finally agreed that something wasn't right with Anna Grace. We spent this night loving on our kiddos and just enjoying them and our yearly trip to the Houston Rodeo!
My night out with my girls was obviously super fun! That pretty much goes without saying. :) A night out is always awesome. We had dinner in Midtown before heading to the Rodeo where we discovered they served Cakebread Chardonnay for $5. Score! It was an awesome night celebrating my best friend, Alison's, last rodeo (well her last one until she moves back to Houston! hehe).
I'm sad to say the day is a little blurry. For one, it was 9 months ago, and it was during the height of our "worrying days" with Anna Grace. We were just getting by day to day. Trying to not worry. Praying and staying hopeful and happy. We definitely didn't let any of this get in the way of celebrating our #1 little dude. All of his grandparents came into town (and of course Aunt Emily and Uncle Grant were around all weekend). We started our weekend off eating at a Japanese Steakhouse. This was night #1 of happy birthday singing. :) Little did William know we would sing him happy birthday at least 5 more times over the next few days!

Here are a few of my favorite pictures of my William from over the years.

Well folks, it's happened....the super hero craze. We decided to take some of the pressure off for the party and had William's birthday party at Little Gym. It was so nice to not have to get the house ready and then clean up afterwards! Instead we had 2 hours of fun, with our favorite people, and then headed to El Tiempo for a yummy dinner with our family.....and then went home to have a champagne toast for Emily and Grant's anniversary! Lucky for us, William's favorite teacher was the leader of the party. The kids had the best time and got lots of energy out (and no parent is going to complain about that!). Hearing their little squeals made our day!

The life size Spiderman lived in our house for months after this party. :) He was used for target practice, scaring Mama, and karate lessons. We definitely got our moneys worth!
This little guy sure does keep us smiling. He has the kindest, sweetest soul. He loves his sister with all he has, doesn't want to disappoint anyone, is a tomato lover, sweet potato fry eating, cuddly little BOY (but he'll always be my baby!).
My #1 moto as a mama. We had another fun Halloween with our two little cuties. We started our Halloween morning at Zoo Boo!! This was our first trip to the zoo that Anna Grace actually noticed the animals and got excited. We even participated in all the Zoo Boo activities this year. :) One of William's favorite things this trip were the SNAKES!
After our fun filled morning at the Zoo we headed home to get rested up for our evening of trick or treating. For the fourth year in a row we went over to Teddy's house for Halloween. This was by far the best year yet! William had so much fun running up to the houses. Listening to him say trick or treat in his shy little voice was so cute. At one point he told us that trick or treating was hard work. :) Anna Grace was the cutest cabbage patch doll I've ever seen. I loved my cabbage patch dolls growing up, so having my very own, live, baby doll makes my heart so happy. She had a great evening watching her big brother run around.
I can't even imagine how much fun they'll have together next year when AG can walk!
How is it 2017? How do I have a nearly 5 year old and my baby is about to start walking?!?! Anna Grace has continued to be a happy, happy little lady. Seeing this little smiling face everyday is good for the soul.
LOL. Some of her favorite foods are beans, any meat, apple sauce, lima beans and quesadillas. She loves it when I make soup and still loves baby oatmeal cereal mixed with apple sauce for breakfast. <span style="color: #666666; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;"> <span style="color: #666666; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;">

About a month ago she started taking steps. She can stand up from the squatting position (which means she finally started pulling herself up to the standing position). Her favorite thing to do is crawl up the stairs. NoT fUn!!! Unlike her brother, this child has absolutely NO fear. We were able to answer yes to most of the developmental questions at her 15 month check up. She says mama and dada (and knows who is who), yes and this. She shakes her head no when she doesn't want something (half the time she does it because she thinks it's funny). She just started giving us high fives....she thinks it's hilarious!

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif;">Sleeping: Anna Grace has continued to do great sleeping in her room. Most nights she is super easy to put to bed. Bottle, rock her for a few minutes, and lay her down in her crib! Baby girl goes to be around 7:30pm and wakes up between 6am-7am. Unfortunately, we've had some rough nights over the last 2 months due to sickness. But, on a normal day she does awesome! Nap time is usually from 12-2. <span style="font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px;">

Things She Loves: She still loves baby dolls, remote controls and my iPhone. She loves playing with William and she'd crawl up the stairs all day long if you'd let her. Her newest thing to do is share. :) Bath time is still a favorite and she's got to have a paci at night. Daddy is also a top favorite these days. "Daddy's Girl" is no joke. She has him wrapped. around. her. finger.

Things She Hates: For whatever reason, she's not a fan of getting her diaper changed lately. She always wants to be moving and this slows her down! She tends to get frustrated when you don't do what she wants (since she can't tell us yet). Sadly she shows us she's mad by biting. She doesn't bite hard but puts her little mouth/teeth on you to get your attention. LOL. I laugh now....won't be funny if she starts doing it for real. If you come to our house you'll probably hear William say "gentle baby" several hundred times. :)

Health: Poor baby girl has had some bad luck lately. The week before Thanksgiving she started acting like she didn't feel well. We took her to the pediatrician and everything looked okay (ears, throat, etc). While we were in Texarkana she threw up at least once a day and ended up with fever one day. A couple of weeks later, while in Midland, she had 104 temperature for two days and finally a Strep Throat diagnosis. Christmas night Anna Grace started throwing up and has been on/off since then. :( Gordon had a stomach bug NYE, so I think they've been passing it back and forth. During the day she is her smiley self and rarely complains/cries. Night time has been rough, but hopefully we are getting all these germ bugs out of the way now and she'll have a stellar immune system very soon!

Anna Grace still goes to Physical Therapy once a week. She is doing great and has really taken a liking to Ms. Laura. We had a good check up with Neurology today....now we just gotta get baby girl's eye straighten out (literally....hehe). She may end up having surgery on them in the next year or two and will possibly be wearing glasses soon.

Other: Our little Anna Grace is finally getting some hair! It's coming in a lot darker than William's did. I'd love it if she had dark black hair (I know, I know the chances of that are slim). She is constantly cutting a new tooth. Right now she has 9.5 teeth (and some of her left side molars are trying to make their way out). Our sweet baby girl is no longer in the "baby room". The week before Christmas she moved rooms and has done great. She was a bit spoiled in the baby room so we are super happy with how well she transitioned.

This little lady just adores her big brother (can you tell!). She is such a bright light and breath of fresh air in our life. She keeps us moving, smiling and laughing!!!

LOL. For whatever reason I forgot to post it all those months ago (June 2015 to be exact).

My very best friends put together the sweetest baby shower for Anna Grace. It was a hot summer afternoon in June filled with lots of pink! At that point seeing tutus and bows still threw me off. Deep down, I really didn't think Gordon and I would ever have a baby girl. This party made me that much more excited for her arrival, and everything pink!

Everything turned out perfect and her bow collection officially started (we just need her to get some hair now!).

We had such a great weekend celebrating Anna Grace!!! There is truly nothing better than being surrounded by your family and friends. Since this was around the time I was put on bedrest with William my nesting was in full force. We spent the rest of the weekend painting Anna Grace's room, her furniture and hanging pictures on the walls. When all the hard work was done we got to celebrate my dad's birthday!!! It's a weekend I'll never forget.
I mean just look at these cutie pies in their skeleton PJs. I really wanted the kids to be Minions....but a certain 4 year old, I won't name names, insisted on being a super hero, again! At least he gave the Minion costume a chance. :)
The picture of Anna Grace in the purple outfit with a black cat was taken the morning we packed up the bassinet for a friend to use. Ahhhhhh....where does the time go?!?! Between buying pumpkins, baking pumpkin seeds and putting sticky skeletons all over the windows this mama's heart could explode. These days will forever be a happy place in my heart.
Between soccer games, traveling and the hot weather there was no time to go sooner. We meant to go back to Blessington Farm this year but this mama messed up and realized they were already closed when we were driving there. Whoops! Regardless, we had fun!

Getting everyone to look at the camera and smile is always highly challenging, and then keeping Anna Grace off the hay (which she hated) was even harder. The picture of Anna Grace and me reaching for William cracks me up. Typical!

After the hay ride to the pumpkin patch we snapped a few pictures and then headed back to play. William rode a pony and went on several slides. His favorite thing was the play area that was free. LOL. My kinda kid! Since William wasn't interested in the activities that cost money we put our extra tokens to use and bought kettle corn, of course!
Our trip to the pumpkin patch was a quick one this year, but full of fun memories and smiles!
Oh my goodness. ONE! I just can't even believe how fast the time has gone. Right before this little cutie pie turned one she said BYE BYE to her fashion accessory, the pink helmet. To be honest, I kinda missed it at first. She just looked so cute with it on! But, I'm super happy to be able to kiss on that head again.

Eating: Around her first birthday we started trying to cut out one bottle a day (4 instead of 5). She does great at home but has a harder time at school. At home she has a bottle when she wakes up, before nap (around noon), 4pm and 8pm before bed. Right after her birthday we introduced cows milk to baby girl. We started with her bottles being 4 oz breast milk and 2 oz cow milk. She did great and hasn't seemed to notice/mind. We are now doing half breast milk and half cow milk. Anna Grace's solid food eating has really taken off. One day she decided she was ready and started gobbling food up. She loves to feed herself! This girl loves everything she eats. <span style="font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;">

She had been working so hard at physical therapy, so this was super exciting. Once she got the hang of it she was off....and hasn't stopped since! We had to answer no to most of the developmental questions at her 1 year check up. She says mama and dada but not any other words and she isn't pulling herself into the standing position. BUT, we know that she will get there soon.

I'm happy to say she has done fabulous! I give her a bottle, rock her for a few minutes, lay her down in her crib and that's it, folks. Such a good girl. :) Baby girl goes to be around 8pm and wakes up between 6am-7am.

Things She Loves: She loves, loves, loves her baby doll. She hugs it and pats its back. When she's not dragging around her baby doll she is tossing a water bottle around or searching for a remote control to play with. HAHA

Things She Hates: Having things taken away from her! She is a bit hard headed and very vocal about what she wants. Definitely not as laid back as her brother was.

Mommy Stuff: Right after Anna Grace's first birthday I stopped pumping. I was hardly making any milk by that time. Getting my body to stop making milk after William was challenging, but for whatever reason, with Anna Grace at 10 months my body started slowing down. That was around the time she started to refuse to nurse. I guess my body knew she was done.

Health: Anna Grace got her first ear infection right before Labor Day. As I mentioned before, neurosurgery released her from their service a week before her birthday. Her head still has a flat spot but it is SO much better. Luckily, most nights she sleeps on her stomach or side and avoids the flat area. I am so so happy to no longer have to drive to the med center for her helmet appointments. :)

We fall more in love every day with Anna Grace's ever growing personality. She has some spunk to her that is so fun. On the other hand, she is such a lover. Her smile is contagious and can brighten anybody's day. There is something so strong and resilient about her. I just know that this little lady is going to do big things. At the end of every day I'm sad to say goodnight to her because she's just so fun to be around!
Happy birthday to our sweet baby girl. God knew just what the Gooding house needed when he sent you. ;)
Anna Grace doesn't have her helmet on in a few of these pictures because she can't wear it when she has fever or when outside in the heat. It's always nice to get to kiss on that sweet, bald head! Well, I say bald head....she is getting some dark fuzzy hair. The other day William noticed it and said, "Awww my baby's getting hair! I'm so proud of you Anna Grace!" #wordsfrombabes #meltmyheart
We have been giving Anna Grace more table food. She's still not too sure what to think. The other day I caught her with a mouth full of green beans. I guess she think they should be dissolving like her puffs. :) We've started giving her a sippy cup to practice with. Right now, she just bangs it on the table. Every once in a while she'll put it to her mouth and laugh. Anna Grace recently tried raspberry, blueberry, spinach and pumpkin. <span style="font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;">

She can pull herself into the crawling position, but is still working on moving forward. I always find her pushing herself backwards. As long as she can get to where she wants she is happy. Baby girl has started waving HI and we get some claps out of her every once in a while. Anna Grace recently qualified for Occupational Therapy. I was a little disappointed that we were going to have to add one more appointment to our list every week, but was willing to do whatever she needed. Luckily, at her first appointment they found that she was already doing better and wouldn't need as much help as they originally thought! Great news!!! I think baby girl has a time table of her own. I love the saying It's not about where you start but how you finish.

She's basically been sleeping through the night since she was 2 or 3 months old. We of course still have nights that she cries and needs help getting her paci back into her mouth, but overall she does awesome. This sweet girl will even put herself to sleep. Just lay her down in bed and she is fine. I prefer to snuggle with her for a few minutes after she finishes her bottle. :) We put her down around 8pm and she gets up between 6 and 7 in the morning. At home she takes a 30-60 minute morning nap around 9:30 and then an 1.5 hour afternoon nap with William. At daycare she doesn't usually sleep much. I guess there's just too much going on?!?!

Other: Anna Grace went to the lake for the second time and went to her first baseball game (Astros vs The Rangers).

Things She Loves: She loves zooming around the house in her walker. She runs into everything (include our feet) and is always grabbing things off our shelves. William usually calls her "my baby" which is followed by the cutest squeal from Anna Grace. She currently loves to play with William's farm truck and animals. She'll sit on the ground for 30 + minutes playing with them. We've noticed that she has stopped chewing on everything she comes into contact with. Don't get me wrong, she still chews on things a lot....but she is showing interest in what the toys are doing.

Things She Hates: The doctor looking in her ears, anyone wearing a hat and strangers. The stranger danger thing hit Anna Grace earlier than it did William!

Mommy Stuff: I'm down to pumping 3 times a day and having a hard time accepting the fact that our baby is almost a year old! LOL

Health: Right after Anna Grace turned 10 months old she saw Neurosurgery for the 3rd time. Unfortunately, her head didn't grown much in the 8 weeks between visits. No growth means not much head shape change. BUT, the flat spot didn't get any flatter and the width of her head stayed the same. Both of those are good things. Since baby girl isn't crawling and lays on her head more than most kids her age the decision was made to leave the helmet on for another 6 weeks. We have noticed that Anna Grace wants to sleep on her right side versus her back now. Hopefully, when the helmet comes off we can keep her sleeping on her side/stomach instead of her back. Also, right after her 10 month bday baby girl got a high fever and was wheezing. She had to have blood work done, a CXR and breathing treatment. Luckily, she was better within a few days. We've had a lot of medical issues with AG, but I will say I'm so grateful that she's never had an ear infection or needed to be on antibiotics. #itsthesmallthings

It was her first trip to the lake! Baby girl loved the boat rides. I never did a 9 month post, :( but here is here 9 month photo collage. This is the month she started to sit up on her own! This meant she got to start participating in splash time at school on Tuesday and Thursday morning. Water + Anna Grace = Happy Baby Girl. xoxo
Baby girl loves her food. :) Up until she was 7.5 months old we were giving her food at lunch time and dinner time. The week we were at the beach we started to do breakfast, lunch and dinner. She usually nurses when she wakes up around 6 and then has 3 bottles at school and has one more bottle after dinner/before bed. <span style="color: #666666; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;">
She is sitting up a lot better (but not completely on her own). When she talks she can say dadada and bababa. This big girl has TWO teeth now!!!

Other: At 7.5 months old Anna Grace went to the beach for her first time. She took lots of naps down at the beach and enjoyed our daily bike rides.

I had to stop swaddling baby girl somewhere around 7 months old. Her physical therapist said it wasn't recommended with torticollis. I was sad because it helped her sleep so much better, but she has adjusted well.

Things She Loves: Bath time is still her favorite time. When she hears the water come on she starts kicking and squealing. She loves splashing in the tub. She will just laugh and laugh. Being thrown in the air is still a favorite as well. Whenever she cries William will sing either Twinkle Twinkle to her or the ABCs. Singing to her usually calms her right down (William is her favorite!). Her favorite toy is her keys and she will chew on anything she can get in her mouth.

Things She Hates: She is still an easy going baby. Tummy time is always a struggle and she tends to cry a lot during physical therapy. But honestly, who can blame her!?!? Her muscles are tight and all the stretching and exercising they have her do isn't comfortable/hurts.

From The Doctor: We haven't seen Anna Grace's PCP since her 6 month check up but we've seen a million other doctors in the last two months. We have been busy.

The day that we flew to Midland for Easter weekend was the day of Anna Grace's MRI of her brain. Not a fun day. They had a hard time getting an IV started on our poor baby girl, so she had to be stuck 3 times. Since this is an area I really excel in as a nurse it came very close to me having to start her IV. {insert crying emoji} Luckily, one of my co-workers was able to help us out! A few weeks later, I'm sad to say, I did have to poke our baby girl for some blood work that was needed. I will say that we were happy to have the MRI behind us, and a long weekend in Midland ahead of us! It was good timing to be in Midland with my family (aka help with the kiddos), so I could get phone calls made and emails sent regarding baby girl's health issues.
The Saturday before Easter we had the BEST time at the country club meeting the Easter bunny, doing face painting, eating lunch, watching a balloon artist and doing an egg hunt! Watching William run after those eggs will be a memory I smile about for the rest of my life.

Going to church on Easter Sunday, where I grew up, was just what my heart needed. We are so very thankful for our children and the wonderful life God has given us. To think that Jesus gave his life for us brings me to tears. That we get to watch these sweet little people grow and learn is more than I could've ever asked for. I always read things about people over using the hashtag #blessed. But, it's the only way to put it. Even when things have been scary with Anna Grace, and her future uncertain, we are so blessed to have her and William, just the way they are. There really is nothing better than spending Easter with the people you love.
I'm pretty sure she thinks we are CrAzY!!! But, let me tell you something, the love that these two kiddos have for each other is unreal. I couldn't have asked for things to be more perfect between my babies. Obviously, they won't always adore each other this much. For now, I'm enjoying every single second of the love, kindness and toy sharing!
This little love bug has continued to wrap us tighter and tighter around her little finger. She is such a fighter with the BEST personality. Eating: Anna Grace still loves to eat. She is eating food 3 times a day (still pureed) and drinks 5 six ounce bottles a day. She loves eating puffs and mum mums (William wouldn't touch anything solid until after his first birthday)! We've tried giving her solid food but she's not quite sure what she thinks. I don't think she's come across a food she doesn't like. She recently tried blueberries and apricots. I'm still making her baby food, so I mix most fruits with a little banana (to help with the tartness). <span style="font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;">

Anna Grace now has a total of 6 teeth (4 on top and 2 on bottom). She can pick up her puffs and put them in her mouth, she is doing excellent sitting up by herself (she started doing this more around 9 months), she isn't crawling but can roll anywhere she needs to go!

<span style="color: #666666; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif;">Clothes: Size 3 diaper and 9-12 month size clothes. This girl has some long legs (and chubby thighs!).

Other: We spent Anna Grace's first 4th of July in Midland. The week after that she had her parents to herself for the first time ever (while William spent a week in Midland).

Things She Loves: Bath time is still her favorite. This child loves being in water! She just loves to splash, splash, splash. Since she's able to sit up better now school is letting her do "splash day" two days a week. They say she has the best time! She still sees most toys as just another thing to chew on. She cracks up laughing when you play peek a boo with her. She has a stuffed animal giraffe that she really loves. This girl also loves to jump! She will stand on your lap and just hop, hop, hop. The exersaucer has become a favorite too. I'm pretty sure baby girl would rather go straight to walking and avoid crawling all together....sad for AG this is not what physical therapy wants.

Things She Hates: Physical therapy is not on Anna Grace's favorite list. Since we moved her appointment time to the morning she has done better, but it's still a lot of work for her. Every day she gets stronger but she has a long road ahead of her. We are working on getting her into the crawling position and from there back to the sitting position. Stretching her out and getting her to use her weak side are other areas/things that get worked on as well.

Anna Grace's little personality is really starting to come out. Baby girl is very vocal about what she does not like. We call her our little firecracker. :) William was always pretty laid back....this little lady has no problem telling us when she wants something done differently! With that being said, she's still one of the happiest babies I've ever met (just has some spice to her!).

Mommy Stuff: Right around AG's 10 month bday my milk production decreased significantly. I went from making 48 ounces to 18 ounces/day. Still not sure what in the world happened. My stress level could play a part in this?!? Also, around this time Anna Grace stopped nursing (so all I've done is pump 4 times a day). It's like one day she woke up and decided she just didn't want to do that anymore. It definitely made this mama sad, but with 6 teeth it was probably for the best. haha! I still have my linea negra, but it has nearly faded away.

Health: Right after Anna Grace turned 9 months old we had a follow up visit with neurosurgery (who prescribed the helmet). They re-scanned her head. They then compare the before and after images and calculate measurements. We saw great improvement over those 8 weeks, so they asked us to have her continue wearing the helmet for at least 6 more weeks. Luckily, the helmet doesn't bother Anna Grace one bit. She is a trooper. At 9.5 months Anna Grace was admitted to the hospital for 48 hours of EEG observation. Getting all those probes glued onto her head was NOT fun. Getting them off wasn't too great either. But, the in between went really well. Anna Grace and I just laid around all day playing and staring at each other. :) We were in a room that was monitored 24/7 (audio and visual). Since we were trying to catch her doing one of her "stare off spells" I literally never took my eyes off of her. Unfortunately, baby girl never had a spell, so we still don't know what is going on. On a good note she's been having the stare off spells a lot less over the last 3 months and there was no seizure activity found during her 48 hours of monitoring.

We still don't have many answers about what's going on with this sweet baby girl. What we do know is.....it doesn't really matter. We will always support her and help her in any way we need to. No matter how much or little she can do. She is a happy little baby girl that we all love to the moon and back. Every day she gets a little stronger and learns something new. We feel very happy with her progress, and are so grateful to live in a town with a wonderful children's hospital.

He is the best big brother and such a little boy now. His trucks can be found scattered in every single room and the day isn't over until we get a game of Hulk and Spiderman in. He makes our days fun!
Eating- Not much has changed in this category. He has gotten a little more opinionated about what he eats. If he eats something that's spicy he'll tell you it's "hot on me". He now knows that eggs and hummus make his lips big and itchy. He reminds us every weekend when we are cooking eggs. :) His favorite foods are still the same (mac 'n cheese, cheese pizza, chicken nuggets from Chick Fil A, ham/cheese sandwich on Hawaiian bread and chips and cheese from any Mexican food restaurant). Luckily, he still really loves vegetables! I'd say green beans are the current favorite (and of course tomatoes). His favorite fruits are watermelon and blueberries. For breakfast he loves getting a sausage and cheese kolache from Shipley's. On Sundays he loves making pancakes! A "normal" breakfast is usually oatmeal or toast with peanut butter and honey (which he sometimes calls sauce).

Sleeping-<span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;"> This is pretty much the same too. Unfortunately, we usually don't get him to sleep until 9:00 (due to our long work days). On school days he's up at 6:00. On the weekends he will lay in bed with us and sleep until 7 or 8. He still randomly wakes up in the middle of the night and sneaks down to our room. Nap time is still 12-2 (the day this ends will be a sad day). He has started to tell us that his room scares him. I knew that the "scared stage" was coming soon. His BIG imagination doesn't help us in this situation.
Development-<span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;"> William started going to what we call ABC school on Saturdays (about 6 months ago). They are helping him learn the ABCs (sounds, how to write, read etc). It also gives us something to work with him on every night. I've noticed that instead of just playing along side other kids he is more interactive. Every day he's learning something new! Little gym ended this month, but we have continued with swim class and will put him in soccer and tee ball this fall. I was feeling a little defeated about his progress in swim class until we went to the beach in May. The little guy was a fish in the pool at our rental house. He did such a good job swimming ALL. ON. HIS. OWN.
Personality<span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;">- Luckily, the shock of adding a human to our family has gone away. William no longer screams, "Never!" at us, and the complete melt downs have decreased significantly! He is still our little lover that is kind and gentle with his sister. He loves his friends and really looks forward to school. He has a love for music that makes my heart smile. When driving in the car he'll tell us, "I like this song, turn up louder!" He'll also let you know if he doesn't like a song. :) He doesn't like getting in trouble (even though he does daily, like you'd expect a toddler to). He asks me everyday when I pick him up from school if he got a happy face. It's important to him to make us and others proud (it's hard to ever stay upset with William for too long because you know he has a huge heart).
Clothing size<span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;">- Shoes size 7 or 8 and 4T
This kid can make me laugh in the saddest times (and this mama has had some worrisome days recently). His ever growing imagination makes me smile and sometimes even laugh out loud (if you know us, you know about "Sparky" the cleaner/duster at school and William's crazy stories). I love that when he takes a picture of me and Anna Grace he tells us to make a funny face. Pretty much, I love everything about this little guy.
It's all fun 'n games when mama, daddy and William play together, but when he goes and hides on his own.....not good. The kid can hide!
<span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: "arial" , "tahoma" , "helvetica" , "freesans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15.4px; line-height: 21.56px;">He still loves superheroes. Hulk is how we get him to eat all his meat at dinner time.
Once you get him in the bed, laying down, reading a book things get easier. It's just getting him into the bed! This kid would rather PLAY than sleep. He does not like anything remotely spicy. He's starting to tell me if he likes or dislikes a song on the radio (this always makes me LOL).
William will also throw in there that he's giving me a "sad face" for my mean actions. LOL.
Things She Loves: She fell in love with a set of play keys at my parents house. This little lady will chew on anything and everything....these keys are the new favorite. Sitting in her walker is also a new favorite thing. Until now, she wasn't able to hold her head up enough to sit in these kinds of things. I think she is happy to have some play time upright. :)

From The Doctor: This is still a sensitive topic. Month 6 to 7 was probably one of the most emotional months of my life. One day I'll expand on this topic. Over the last month baby girl was seen by a neurologist, had a MRI done, saw an ophthalmologist, got referred to a neuro-ophthalmologist and a neuro surgeon, she had an EEG done, urine tests done and had to have blood drawn twice (one of which this mama had to poke her for.....INSERT tears and lots of crying here). Right before she turned 7 months old she had her physical therapy evaluation. They confirmed her torticollis and recommended she be seen once a week for physical therapy. To say we've been busy is an understatement! With two parents working full time and running all over Houston for these appointments + just the normal life with our kiddos, we have been tired/emotionally drained, but feel so happy and blessed to have these two sweet angels in our life.

A sweet friend sent this to me during these crazy days:
Do not be discouraged by the fact that many of your prayers are yet unanswered. Instead of letting difficulties draw you into worrying, try to view them as setting the scene for My glorious intervention. Keep your eyes and your mind open to all that I am doing in your life.

This baby girl is better than I could have ever imagined. Before she was here it was hard to believe we could love another child as much as William. I knew we would, but it was hard to wrap my head around. Now she is here, and we ALL adore her.
Being raised going to church and having a love for God is one of the greatest gifts my parents have given me. It's what keeps me hopeful, what keeps me grounded and, to be honest, it's what keeps me sane in this crazy thing that we call life! Teaching our children to love God will always be our top priority. So, celebrating this fabulous day with our friends and family is the BEST. DAY. EVER!

We started the day off at the church where Gordon and I were married in 2010 and where William was baptized in 2012. Little Anna Grace did a great job. She wasn't a huge fan of the cold water being poured on her head, but she recovered quickly and thought Father Walsh was pretty interesting. Father Walsh is also the priest that married us 5 years ago. It's kinda neat since baby girl was born on our 5th wedding anniversary.

Anna Grace is a special baby girl. After having a miscarriage I prayed for peace, prayed that I could trust and not worry, and prayed that God would give us another little blessing. Everything about her is perfect. She has given us a lot of scares with her recent health issues, but we wouldn't change a single thing about her. God made her just for us, and we all adore everything about her.

After the baptism ceremony we headed to Rice Village for lunch at Punk's. We couldn't have asked for better weather! It was beautiful outside. This location is extra special because it's one of Gordon's projects. The kids loved playing in the open green area, the food was delicious and everyone got a tour of Daddy's recent work.

After lunch we headed home for nap time and to get ready to party with our closest friends! A few months ago, while we were eating at Dekker's, I grabbed the singers card. I loved that he sang a little bit of everything....country and John Mayer....can't beat that! Lucky for us, he was available on the night of Anna Grace's baptism celebration. We had the best time with our friends hanging out outside playing games, watching the kids on the play set and listening to some live music! After years of throwing parties I got smart and hired 2 babysitters to help us watch the kids. Best. Decision. Ever. The parents were able to have more fun, we were able to catch up with each other, and I honestly think the kids had more fun than normal. :)
February 27, 2016 is a day we will never forget. Every part of the day was perfect! William talked about how much fun he had for days. He loves having all his friends over to play and eats up all the attention he gets when we have family in town. Too bad we can't do it all again. :)
It was the year we found out we were pregnant and going to have a baby girl, William turned 3, we had the best trip to the beach since we had William, we celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary on the same day we welcomed Anna Grace into the world, William saw snow for the first time, and we became a family of four! It was an awesome year that will be hard to beat.
We spent New Year's Eve cooking a yummy steak dinner and doing fireworks in the front yard. William had the best time! The fireworks were such a hit that we had some friends over the next night to do more. I've never heard William say "again" so many times.
I pray that 2016 holds as many specials moments as 2015 did!
I'll be doing a 4 year old post soon. {insert a lot of tears! how is he so old} This little guy loves playing outside. He would stay at the playground all day long if you'd let him. We love going on walks together and he's my little baking helper!
We may not get the same one on one time we did before Anna Grace was born, but we make time for FUN!
