Our Spooky Halloween 2016

Better late than never.  My #1 moto as a mama.  We had another fun Halloween with our two little cuties.  We started our Halloween morning at Zoo Boo!!  This was our first trip to the zoo that Anna Grace actually noticed the animals and got excited.  We even participated in all the Zoo Boo activities this year. :)  One of William's favorite things this trip were the SNAKES!

After our fun filled morning at the Zoo we headed home to get rested up for our evening of trick or treating.  For the fourth year in a row we went over to Teddy's house for Halloween.  This was by far the best year yet!  William had so much fun running up to the houses.  Listening to him say trick or treat in his shy little voice was so cute.  At one point he told us that trick or treating was hard work.  :)  Anna Grace was the cutest cabbage patch doll I've ever seen.  I loved my cabbage patch dolls growing up, so having my very own, live, baby doll makes my heart so happy.  She had a great evening watching her big brother run around.

I can't even imagine how much fun they'll have together next year when AG can walk!

Getting Ready For Halloween

Halloween gets more and more fun every year.  I mean just look at these cutie pies in their skeleton PJs.  I really wanted the kids to be Minions....but a certain 4 year old, I won't name names, insisted on being a super hero, again!  At least he gave the Minion costume a chance. :)
The picture of Anna Grace in the purple outfit with a black cat was taken the morning we packed up the bassinet for a friend to use.  Ahhhhhh....where does the time go?!?!  Between buying pumpkins, baking pumpkin seeds and putting sticky skeletons all over the windows this mama's heart could explode.  These days will forever be a happy place in my heart.

Halloween Fun

We had a super fun month celebrating fall and Halloween!  Here are a few of my favorite pictures.

Silly skeleton | Her crying makes him a little nervous | In their orange PJs
Super man and his little lady | My little pumpkins | Trick or treating FUN!
Lovin' on his baby sister | Superman! | Our family of four

We spent our Halloween trick or treating with William's friends from "town".  Teddy's mama (and my sorority sister) does a fabulous job hosting a pre-trick or treating party!  We always have the best night with this crew.  This year was by far the most fun.  The kids finally understand what is going on and were so much fun to watch!  Before walking up to one of the houses William told me it was "spooky" {in a super spooookyyy voice}.  That kid sure does keep me laughing!

The day before Halloween we made a visit to the zoo with Mimi for Zoo Boo!  As always, William had a blast!  The elephants were still #1 on his list followed by the fish, the carousel, the lion and the black bears who were eating pumpkins.  We even fit some pumpkin decorating and pizza eating in between all of that!

I'd say this was our most successful Halloween yet!  The only thing that could make next year better would be temperatures below 90 degrees outside....it was HOT this year.  I will admit, I'm pretty excited about dressing baby girl up next year!

A Hot Dog Halloween

This is the first year we got to do some real trick or treating with William!  We spent our second Halloween in a row with William's "Houston friends".....Teddy, Britton, Eli and the twins.  William was still a little unsure of what was going on.  He did made it up to a few doors steps but didn't actually say "trick or treat".  Once he found out he could eat the candy he just wanted to sit in the stroller and munch on M and Ms!

Here are the fun treats we took to William's school friends on Halloween.

Pretzel Snack = pretzel, hershey kiss and a candy corn or m and m on top

Perfect size for toddlers

I found this cute tissue paper at Under Five for super cheap.  Then, I just added a glow in the dark bat, play-doh, a snack size candy, and a pretzel treat we made at home.  Tie some string around it and you are done.  :)

William wasn't into the Mickey Mouse ears actually being on his head.  But, at least he didn't mind the costume since "Hot Dog" is his favorite!  We had such a great night with our friends....Grant and Emily even came along for the fun (I'm guessing this night was excellent birth control for them....things tend to get a little crazy with 6 two years running around.  haha).  Britton and William still love each other to pieces.  Look how cute they are holding hands!
Being the typical toddlers they are......I think they had the most fun playing with all of Teddy's toys afterwards.  Oh the life of a toddler!

Fun Fall Activities

In mid October I started working "part-time".  I actually work somewhere between part-time and full-time.  Regardless, it's so much better than 5 days a week!  William and I kick off my part-time status at Houston Zoo Boo.  We had the best mommy/son day.  :)  We got to watch the elephants get a bath (he's still talking about it), we rode the carousel, went to the petting zoo, painted pumpkins and obviously rode the train!  After our adventures at Zoo Boo we met Daddy for lunch in Rice Village....followed by shopping of course.  I can't say how wonderful these extra days have been with William.  I definitely don't think I'm cut out to be a stay at home mom but, an extra day or two a week at home with this little man is perfect.

That following weekend our favorite friends came over for Halloween cookie decorating.  William just dumped a whole container of sprinkles on his cookie and then proceeded to eat a mixture of frosting and sprinkles.  #sugarhigh  The older kids were much better at decorating their cookies!  We are so lucky to get to call these guys our best friends.

Happy Fall Y'all!!!

Pumpkin Patch

I guess since November is about to be gone I should post some pumpkin pictures!

Checking out the pumpkins after music class

I feel like a broken record....I'm behind on blogging (and everything else in life)!  By the time we made it to the pumpkin patch it was the weekend before we moved (super busy) and nearly all the pumpkins were gone (and I'd already packed my nice camera lens).  I swear I'm going to have my stuff together next year!
Regardless, we got a few cute ones.  Gordon was busy doing something house related so no daddy/son pictures this year.

William loved the pumpkins and wanted to pick them all up!  Such a difference from last year.  It's crazy how much they change in such a short amount of time.

Happy Fall Y'all!!!!

First Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone!  We are hanging out here at the house tonight since the little guy wouldn't appreciate trick or treating this year.  William had some squash and a bottle for dinner and is now passed out!  It's been fun dressing William up in his costume and different Halloween outfits but next year will be even better!  He got to wear his costume yesterday to school for the Halloween parade and today he was on the front page of the Texas Children's website homepage in his adorable little frog outfit!  The little guy is famous.  :)

Monday night I made these yummy chocolate pretzels and our first pumpkin pie of the fall.  Gordon LOVES pumpkin pie so I make lots of them between October and December.  William gave his classmates and teachers a little Halloween treat today!  Gordon asked why I was doing it since the babies can't eat...my response..."they all have moms" (and we love chocolate)!

Here's a few pictures of our little pumpkin in his Halloween attire!
William is sleeping in the picture of us....we had just gotten home from school and he'd fallen asleep in the car.  He's looking a little sleepy this morning in the picture with daddy.

Well, I'm off to start packing for our trip to West Texas tomorrow!  I'm super excited about getting some R&R (massage is already scheduled!) and having some fun in the LBK.
